AL JAKBAR available for AI with frozen semen in 2017

Posted on: 24th Oct 2016

After two successful racing seasons, Shadwell Arabian Stallion AL JAKBAR will from now on be available to breeders via AI with frozen semen.

With only a few runners worldwide, AL JAKBAR has reached a remarkable ratio of 87.5% of individual winners per runners. He sired his first winner in 2015, when AL MURJAAN won the Garizim Memorial in Sweden. In 2016, his daughters showed great racing abilities. FIRDOS won easily at Al Ain in March. At Newbury, JAMAAYIL won very impressively the first race of the prestigious Dubai International Arabian Races meeting. His best progeny is AGHSAAN who won the ARO Cup (Gr.3 PA) in June before finishing second in the Hatta International Stakes (Gr.1 PA) in Newbury and in the Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Cup (Gr.1 PA) at Sandown.

Richard Lancaster, Shadwell’s Stud Director commented: “From a limited number of opportunities, AL JAKBAR has proven to be a valuable sire with his progeny winning in different countries. British breeders have sent mares to him for the first time this year. As his sire, AL SAKBE, passed away this summer, we are happy to enable European and UAE breeders to use one of his best son.”

French-bred, AL JAKBAR was trained by François Rohaut who always held him in high regard. AL JAKBAR won the French Arabian Breeders’ Cup Mile (Gr.1 PA) at Longchamp as a 4 year old.

AL JAKBAR is out of ESSAADA, dam of multiple Group performers such as BINT BELADY (Al Asayl Championship, Gr.3), ESSAANA (Prix Razzia III, Gr.3), TORNADOR (La Coupe Goffs, Gr.1) and SPEED TORNADE (Emaar International Stakes, Gr.2).

AL JAKBAR stands at Beech House Stud (Newmarket, UK). His 2017 nomination fees are: £500 for natural cover (1st January Special Live Foal) and €800 for AI with frozen semen.
